LUCEA, Hanover — Defending champions Rusea's High will this afternoon play for the first time since the opening day of the ISSA/Gatorade/Digicel schoolboys' football competition when they host neighbours Green Island High in a Zone B in Lucea, set to start at 3:30 pm.

Rusea's were due to play away to Merlene Ottey on Saturday, but that game, along with the Green Island vs Merlene Ottey encounter, was postponed to facilitate the funeral of a former vice-principal of Green Island.

Both games will be played on Thursday, giving the teams a full week where they will play three matches, with games set for Saturday as well.

Both Rusea's and Green Island won their opening matches, but the home team will have the edge today. Rusea's beat Herbert Morrison, while Green Island edged Merlene Ottey.

Meanwhile, former champions Frome Technical will seek to stay at the top of Zone B with their third consecutive win when they play away to Merlene Ottey at Pondside.

Frome Technical are coming off a 3-2 win over Herbert Morrison on Saturday after opening up their season with a 3-1 win over Cambridge.

Merlene Ottey have played just one match so far, losing to Green Island, and will face Tevin Williams who has scored in both games played so far.

In another game in Zone B, Herbert Morrison will host Cambridge in Montego Bay as both teams seek their first point of the campaign.

Mannings will seek to rebound from their defeat to Petersfield on Saturday when they host Grange Hill in Savannah-la-Mar in a Zone D game, while Little London and Godfrey Stewart meet as well.

St Mary High could take over the lead in Zone J when they take on Brimmervale.
