Clarendon College and Kingston College stayed in contention for trebles after qualifying for the finals of the ISSA Champions Cup all-island knock-outs with contrasting wins in Saturday’s semi-finals at the national stadium.

Clarendon College who are also into the finals of the DaCosta Cup ended Cornwall College’s season after beating the Montego Bay school 3- 0 in their semi-final while Kingston College gave up a lead before beating Jamaica College 3-2 in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

Kingston College the defending Manning Cup champions will meet Jamaica College again on Wednesday, this time in the semi-finals of the Manning Cup.

After a goalless first half, Clarendon College made their dominance pay in the second half when Roderick Granville scored twice and Tahjay Williams got the other for the reigning DaCosta Cup champions.

After being beaten earlier in the week by Dinthill Technical in the semi-finals of the DaCosta Cup, Cornwall were forced to make an early change when central defender Nic-Antio Lewis had to be taken off in the first half.

The second game was badly affected by torrential rain and Demario McCarthy gave KC the lead late in the first half when he converted from close range.

With the field sodden and the ball not being able to be moved about easily, KC looked well on their way to winning the game but JC stepped up late and Shadane Lopez headed home from close range late in the game and could have won it in regulation but Lopez just failed to get on the end of a shot from Richard Thompson that flew across the face of the KC goal.
