Ben Francis KO PK Shootout

BB Coke continued their outstanding season by crashing the semi-final party in the ISSA Ben Francis KO, joining former winners St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) and Garvey Maceo as well as finalists Manchester High in next week’s second round after wins on Wednesday.

The foursome advanced to the semi-finals set for next Thursday, November 14 th with the final set for a week later.

On Wednesday, BB Coke edged fellow first-timers Anchovy High 1- 0 in their quarter-final game at Manchester High with the all-important goal coming from Shamar Robinson in the second half as they qualified for their first-ever semi-final at the senior level.

Five-time winners STETHS beat Mannings School 4-3 on penalty kicks after coming from a half time deficit to tie up the scores 1-1, forcing the shoot out at the end of regulation.

Mannings took the lead late in the first half when Abijah Wallace converted from the penalty spot but Michael German equalized early in the second half.

In the shoot out, the STETHS goalkeeper Joewayne Salmon made two saves including getting a measure of revenge on Wallace, saving his spot-kick to give his team an early advantage.

Garvey Maceo, the dark horse favorites and 2007 champions, beat Port Antonio High 2-1 at Drax Hall while Manchester High also beat Frome Technical 2-1 in Santa Cruz with Dane Golding and Jonhoi Simpson scoring the goals.
