Annotto Bay High and surprise package McGrath High extended their perfect starts to the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition after wins on Saturday.

They joined Frome Technical who beat Rusea’s High and Manchester High who’s game was washed out, as the team that have won all their games played so far.

Annotto Bay High beat Brimmervale 2-1 for their fourth win of the season, to improve to 12 points, five more than the losers on Saturday to stay at the top of Zone J.

McGrath High continued their fairy tale run with a 2-1 win over Enid Bennett High in Zone K, their third of the season as Peter McGregor scored a double for the winners, accounting for all four goals scored by the team so far this season.

Rusea’s High’s, William Knibb Memorial’s perfect starts to the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition came to an end on Saturday after they were beaten by Frome Technical and Spot Valley High respectively while Happy Grove High were held 0-0 ending their winning start.

The losses left four teams-Frome Technical, Manchester High, Annotto Bay High and McGrath High as the only schools yet to drop points in the competition.

Zico Stone’s second half goal gave Frome Technical a 1-0 win over Rusea’s High in their big Zone B clash as they beat the Lucea based school for the first time since the 2015 season.

It was Stone’s third goal of the season after his brace in the previous game against Merlene Ottey High and took Frome Technical to 12 points, three more than Rusea’s High’s nine points.

Spot Valley High came back from a goal down to beat William Knibb 3-2 in their Zone C game despite two goals from Cristojae Daley to take his tally to nine goals scored.

Daley who has scored in all four games played gave William Knibb the lead but Spot Valley roared back with three goals from Daqwan Scott, Linval Linton and Kimani James as Daley kept it close with another late in the game.

Happy Grove also had their winning run halted as they were held 0-0 by Titchfield High in Zone L.

Defending champions Clarendon College won back to back games for the first time this season after clipping Edwin Allen High 1-0 in their Zone H top of the group game in the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition.

Andre Nicholson’s goal was the difference between the teams gave Clarendon College a 1-0 win as they moved to seven points, two more than Lennon High who edged Kellits High 2-1 to take over second place as Edwin Allen slipped to third.

Cornwall College stayed atop Zone A after a 3-0 win over Maldon High in Montego Bay with goals from Brandon Curate, Shaquan Reid and Calvin Stephenson.

Cornwall College are on 13 points, four more than Anchovy High moved past Green Pond High into second place after a 4-0 win over Irwin High thanks to a double from Mark Smith while St James High gave up an own goal for the second straight game but salvaged a 1-1 draw against Green Pond.

Zone D leaders Mannings School edged Godfrey Stewart High 1-0 to move to 13 points as Belmont High scored a second win, beating Grange Hill and Petersfield had their first win beating Maud McLeod 4-0.

St Elizabeth Technical beat Lacovia High 4-1 to stay tops in Zone E with 13 points as Maggotty High upset Munro College 1-0 and Sydney Pagon beat Black River High 5-1, their biggest win ever as Kismo McGowan scored a double.

Dinthill Technical’s nightmare season continued as they lost for a third straight game, beaten 3-2 by Charlemont High at home, losing a third game in the first round for only the second time since the 2011 season.

Port Antonio High moved ahead of Titchfield into second place after a 2-1 win over Fair Prospect High.

William Knibb Memorial scored their first win over Cedric Titus as they raced to a third straight victory while Manchester High racked up a fourth straight win as the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition on Tuesday.

The Martha Brae based William Knibb are off to their best start in years as sharpshooter Cristojaye Daley scored in his third straight game, his seventh goal of the season as they got the better of Cedric Titus for the first time ever in a first-round game, winning 1-0 in their Zone C encounter.

The win helped William Knibb to extend their advantage in the Zone to four points as they are on nine while Herbert Morrison Technical moved into second place on five points after a 0-0 draw against Holland High.

Dane Golding scored a double as Manchester High continued their dominance in Zone F with a 6-1 victory over DeCarteret.

Golding took his tally to three goals on the season while Lamont Rochester, Omario Leslie, Jamar Bolt and Shaquille Campbell also scored as Manchester High raced to 12 points, opening up a big gap on the rest of the zone.

Manchester High lead the zone by six points as four other schools are on six points, including BB Coke who beat Mile Gully High 4-0 and May Day High who edged Belair 1-0.
