Herbert Morrison Technical continued their resurgence in Zone C of the ISSA/Wata DaCosta cup football competition after edging Muschett High 2-1 in their first-round game played in Wakefield, Trelawny on Saturday.

Herbert Morrison lost their first two games but turned around their form to beat William Knibb Memorial, Holland High and Muschett in a row to climb into second place on nine points, three behind leaders Cedric Titus who edged Holland High 1-0 at Holland with Spot Valley slipping to third place as they have been winless in their last three after starting with back to back wins.

Anchovy High beat Green Pond High for the first time, edging them 3-2 at Anchovy for their third win and joined them in second place, both on nine points each.      

Rainor Barnes, Resean Gray and Antonio Kerr were the scorers for Anchovy High.

Manchester High beat May Day High 3-0 to stay on top of Zone F with 13 points as BB Coke High stayed in second place on 12 points after edging DeCarteret College 2-1.

Knox High upset Holmwood Technical 1-0 to stay in the lead in Zone G with Spalding High who were 2-0 winners over Alston High.

Both are on 10 points, three more than Holmwood Technical who stayed on seven points.
