Cornwall College player pressures the Anchovy defense in their 1-0 win

Six schools led by last season’s finalists Clarendon College and Cornwall College won their zones in the ISSA/Wata DaCosta Cup football competition after earlier booking their spots in the second round.

Clarendon College edged Lennon High 1-0 in their Zone H game, wining five straight after being held to a 1-1 draw in the opening game in September by Lennon.

The win took Clarendon College to 16 points, five more than Lennon who had booked their spot earlier as well.

Denyu Ricketts scored his third goal of the season, a curling left footer high into the far left corner, off the upright as Cornwall College edged Anchovy High 1-0 in their Zone A game at Cornwall College.

The win broke a tie between the teams who were both on 20 points as Cornwall won Zone A for the fourth straight season and fifth time in the last six years.

Manchester High hammered DeCarteret College 9-0 as they scored 15 goals in their final two games, after losing to BB Coke and topped Zone F with 25 points.

Alston High topped their competitive Zone G with 22 points, despite losing to Spalding High who were facing a must win situation.

Port Antonio High won Zone L after blanking second place Happy Grove 3-0 while Garvey Maceo High took Zone M after edging Bellefield High 1-0. Technical and Central High who will meet on Monday qualified from Zone N.
