Cornwall College vs Anchovy action

Seven schools led by defending champions Rusea's High and including four former champions have extended their good start to the ISSA/Wata daCosta Cup football competition, winning their third games in a row on Saturday.

Rusea's overcame a spirited Hopewell High team that came from 0-2 down to tie you the game at 2-2 before the champions persevered in the end to preserve their perfect start and improve to nine points.

 

They are second in Zone B however, on goal difference behind the high flying Frome Technical who blanked Merlene Ottey High 5-0, their third straight game scoring five goals led by Giovanni Mittoo who scored his third hat-trick of the season.

Cornwall College, the 2016 champions, have yet to concede a goal as they ran by Anchovy High 4-0 in Zone A with braces from Shavaughn McDonald and Matthew Thorpe, beating them a ninth straight time.

STETHS just got by Maggotty High 1-0 at Appleton to take over sole leadership of Zone E.

Lennon High are perfect through their first three games with a 3-0 beating of Thompson Town to lead Zone H where Clarendon College have won their two games played so far.

Garvey Maceo edged Glenmuir High 1-0 at Juicy Field in their big Zone M derby as the losers conceded their first goal of the season and had their ten games winning run in the first round snapped.

Morant Bay came out on the better side of a 3-2 battle against Yallahs High, winning all three games by 1-0 margins.
