Scorers Duhaney Williams and Romaine Walsh 2-1 victory over Lennon in the Ben Francis KO

Manchester High and Dinthill Technical will both be seeking to salvage their seasons when they meet in the first semi-final of the ISSA/Flow DaCosta Cup football competition at Juici Field on Friday, starting at 2:30pm.

Both are coming off losses last week, both to St Elizabeth Technical in the Ben Francis KO competition. Dinthill were beaten in the semi-final at Manchester High grounds while Manchester High were manhandled, losing 4-1 in the final at Juici Field.

The winner of Friday’s game will meet the winner of the other semi-final between STETHS and Lennon, to be played on Saturday, at the same venue, in the December 5 final at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.

Both Dinthill, who won the second of their two titles in 1981 and Manchester High, who are still looking for their first senior ISSA football title, will have a lot to prove, as they seek to keep their DaCosta Cup title hopes alive.

Dinthill Technical will still be wringing their hands, after allowing STETHS back into their Ben Francis KO, losing in sudden death penalties, and will come into today’s game with the psychological edge, having beaten Manchester High on their way to the semi-finals last year.

Top striker, Rodave Murray, should be back to lead the Dinthill attack, after he limped through the extra time period against STETHS.

Manchester High’s high octane scoring machine seems to have run out of steam as the season progressed and after scoring 68 goals in their first 10 games, the goals have dried up, but they will hope Duhaney Williams and Romaine Walsh will have some more goals left in their boots.

Both semi-finals will be played, and extra and penalty kicks will be used if the scores are tied.
