Edwin Allen vs. Lennon HighThe Frank field based-school Edwin Allen rained on Lennon High in their Zone H encounter today to record their first win of the season.
Striker Gawayne Whtye netted via a header in the 34th minute to break the nil-all deadlock and from there on helped his team keep Lennon at arm’s length until the final whistle.

The win pushed Edwin Allen to four points after they lost on Saturday to Thompson Town who also win today against Claude Mckay.  The lost for Lennon leave them in 3rd position.
Lennon High dominated the opening 15 minutes in both halves but found the Eldwin Allen defense difficult to pierce; and even when Lennon got past the defenders, the attackers, for the most part, failed to test Edwin’s goalkeeper Richard Gayle.
Edwin Allen, though, did not just stand around and watched the ball. They made it into an exciting spectacle with some daunting counterattacking runs and some crushing tackles on their opponents.

Romario Bryan stood out as best attacker in the park and if it wasn’t for the excellent ball-reading skills demonstrated by Lennon’s central defenders, Ackeem Henry and Tanjay Beckford, Bryan might have helped his team to at least one more goal.
However in the 75th minute of the game Lennon gained a penalty when Shawayne Nelson was bad tackled inside the box.  Unfortunately for Lennon, Kirk Freeman missed from the penalty spot which helped de-motivate the Lennon team.
Dane Chambers, coach of Lennon High, thought his team played well but felt his attackers lacked the killer instinct on the day.
