Calabar punish Jonathan GrantFormer champions Calabar High turned in a clinical performance to beat Jonathan Grant 3-1 in their Group A, ISSA/LIME Manning Cup encounter at Red Hills Road today.

Home team Calabar bring back their inter-zone hopes in the first 20 minutes of the game when striker Omar Walker fired home a stunner to give his team a 1 nil lead.  It was more trouble for Jonathan Grant when Adain Stewart was ejected in the 48th minute.  However, they found the equalizer in the 58th minute but the Red Hills based-school Calabar held their ground as they took the lead 2 minutes later when Brandon Webster made no mistake in-front of the goal as he hit the back of the net.

Jonathan Grant turned the heat on when they made some deadly counter attacks in the Calabar defensive area but their strikers just found it difficult to score.

However Krystan Patrick made them pay as he helped sink their hopes by scoring in the 75th minute.

Calabar are still third in the group with Hydel leading and Ascot second.
