Haile Selassie’s School motto, “Learning for a Living”, was inspired by the words of the emperor himself, who said:

 “Education is the gateway to everlasting enlightenment.  There is no end to training and you should think of the completion of your education here only as a commencement of the second chance of your assignment in life.  Open a new door to struggle for that degree of excellence in the service of your country and humanity.”
